New to recaptioning comics? Here's a fun one-page potential "starter" comic!

This is from the wonderful Nedor-a-Day site, with a new public domain comic book story from Nedor comics every day, as the title suggests:



Seems like there are a lot of good possibilities from the pictures here. The site as a whole is full of good stuff too. I'm repurposing "Jill Trent, Science Sleuth!" as a Golden Age reprint story in the TGC Jet Dream 1970 Annual, but there's a lot more. Quite a few stories with female protagonists, or female characters in relatively prominent supporting roles.

This superhero story, for instance, has a heroine stripped down to her underwear for no particularly good reason....

He's My Boss!

A great recommendation, Sue. And a great sample. I made a couple different versions in photoshop with higher contrast and different tones and color adjustments, in case anyone prefers these. Can't get enough of "He's My Boss!"

Nice one, Jezzi! Not a take I would've expected, but it works, and that's a lot of the fun of this sort of thing.

Nice job, ANonyMoose! I also like your lettering and... hmm, we should have a term for this, the "cleanup" or conversion of the old balloons, etc. Quite seamless.

It's a somewhat silly pet peeve of mine, but I always find it a little jarring when the recaptioning looks too obviously like a "modern" overlay of old material.
