Query

I feel like a rat, but correct me if I'm wrong. ...Don't the rules state that PHOTOS are a no-no on the site and the Forum? And, yes, I have done some using photos (including 'painterized' ones), but will not submit to the TGCaps site since I saw the new rules! These were stated by Lorna on 29 Sep 2014, yet I see new ones submitted to the forum as of late. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to cause trouble, just attempting to clarify things.

I'll admit to being a bit lax at enforcement of the 'no foto' rule. Thanks for reminding me of its importance to maintaining the integrity of TGCaps.

If you're referring to me, I've been posting my photomanipulations here for years (mostly in the "The Ones" area).

If that's not what I should be doing, I'll put them all somewhere else (like on the main TGComics site forum).

If I do have to switch it'd be nice to have some help moving everything over (comments, views etc.) if that's feasible.

When this site was relaunched (split from TGComics) almost a year ago, it was decided that NO 'live action' imaging would be allowed on the new TGCaps site, and we've held to that policy. Unfortunately, as has been pointed out, that policy has not been applied to the Forum with any consistency, and we believe that has to change. No effort will be made to 'clean up' previous Forum postings, but hereafter we will maintain content consistency by enforcing the stated "no live action imagery" policy..

A mix was allowed on the former TGComix site before TGCaps was spit off back in January, so if anyone wants to post live images/manips, then that's the place to go.

Please refer any questions to this Forum thread or send me a personal PM..

Sorry, all -- I didn't mean to mistake a hornet's nest for a pinata, but I thought things needed clarification in the light of rules set up (and I'm sure intelligently so) by Lorna last September. Believe me, I've got a whole line of captioned and recapped PHOTOS in my archives that I'd love to use, but I'm a rule follower, so I can't do it. ...Maybe if I get some extra time, I might venture into TGComix for a try!

You did nothing of the kind. You gave honest feedback and criticism, which is rarely given, and is respected here. It needed to be said and made me realize that I needed to wake up and make corrections.

To those of you with talents and products similar to Katyk's, there are other options out there: Here are only a few suggestions:
-> blogs: there are tons of blog spaces out there, but they're sometimes hard to find if you want to be noticed.
-> website: build your own site like Femur has, alltough that probably isn't the best option for those with limited resources or knowledge.
-> Yahoo Groups: I had a group there for a long time, and posted all my photo/caps there. But their revamp a while back was a nightmare, so I closed my group.
-> DeviantArt: I've recently begun posting all my photo/caps on my Deviant Art gallery and it's been a good decision so far.

BTW: We're always looking for good captioning linkage, regardless of the content, so please let us know if you have one or find one's you like.
