Found a couple more covers that can be read as TG without any alteration at all, the second due to what appeared to be a word balloon that's been sloppily pasted in. It should be they guy saying those words, but that balloon definitely points to the woman.

yeah,

the left one is really fully ambivalent

and with the right one, you just might be right

On the second one, it even looks like the woman's drawn as the speaker.

I swear, some of these romance comics actually read as if the original writer was doing what we do: looking at pages with no words, and figuring out words to create a story. The original version of the Marlene story in My Jet Dream Romance really doesn't make a lick of sense (not to mention abandoning the cover's promises of hot centrifuge-related loving.) There are a couple of what seem to be coloring errors, too, where a character's clothes change (or fail to change), suggesting the wrong time passage that the art seems to show. Basically, I think quality control was kinda low on some of these books.

I honestly think my version might make more sense than the original!

Love both of these! Wow! I think both can (and, of course, should) be read as wholly TG! Great stuff.

Two more that can be read as TG with no recap required:
We know her secret!
We know her secret!
...and hers!

Haven't done any recaps lately, but here are a couple more that require none:
Guess what her secret is...
Guess what her secret is...
...and hers!
...and hers!

Another couple of good 'no recaps'.

It'd be interesting to see what the stories in the comic books were about. The gal with the short dark hair in the "Falling in Love" cover has such an evil smirk.

A surprising number of romance stories seem to be obliquely addressing lesbianism in various ways, actually. Not really "for" it, and the end message is always something like the girl who "just doesn't like boys" just needing to find the right boy, but reading between the lines, it's like some of these stories are trying to help girls work through those issues....

It sounds like it might be possible to take some of those stories, and after dropping the last couple of pages, then turn the reluctant girl into a TG character with a good recap.

That's actually on my "To Do" list, with a couple romance stories I plan to convert to tales of the trials and tribulations of young Elle-Boys for My Jet Dream Romance.

With the right spin, a lot of romance stories can have TG elements. For instance, the "roommates" in one of the stories I'm working on can be transformed into a couple where one of the girls is really the boyfriend....

The Young Love "Only has himself to blame" cover is great!

[Now if only someone would write the story that goes with the cover...]

An excellent pair. The Heart Throbs cover has all sorts of intriguing possibilities...
