As femur pointed out, the last amended cover I posted only needed the addition of a single word to make it TG. So here's one that doesn't need any alteration at all, presented as originally published.

I heartily recommend this kind of posting -- I love the idea of things that could be interpreted as TG without changing a word. I even had a second site way back when, promoting this idea. Maybe I can dig up some of those old pics (I think they were all ads) and post 'em here.

I remember that site, didn't realize (or didn't remember) that it was yours. There's lots of great TG stuff out there, if you just look at it from a slightly skewed angle!

On a sort of related tangent. I always thought these Cliff Richard lyrics sounded fairly TG without needing changes (but maybe its just my warped mind ;-)

And, to continue the theme, here's an old paperback cover that seems TG to me without changing a word. "Special Kind of Love"... heh heh heh!

The "Help Wanted--Male" artwork was also used for a comic book cover. It was Romantic Love (Realistic Comics, 1951) #9. Judging from the covers that I've looked at, I think that quite a few of the covers for Realistic Comics were artwork originally from pulp magazine or paperback books.

From what I can tell, there seems to be some sort of connection between Realistic Comics, and Avon Comics. Avon Comics were published by the paperback publisher Avon Publications. One of Avon's paperback imprints was Novel Library, which was the publisher of the "Help Wanted--Male" paperback (#41, 1950) which was written by Stone, Thomas (Pseudonym of Florence Stonebraker). 'Thomas Stone' also wrote "Three Times Sin", "Red-Headed Nurse", "Taylor-made Wives", "Careless Caresses", "One More Lover", etc. Florence Stonebraker wrote a number of women's (lesbian?) pulp paperbacks, including "Sinful Desires", "Kept Sisters", "Can Love be Wrong?", "Strange Passions", "Strange Sinner ", etc. Florence Stonebraker also used a number of other pseudonyms, including Fern Shepard, Florence Stuart, & Florenz Branch.

What kind of idiot stamps their shop's details smack in the middle of the cover? Don't they know it creates a lot of air-brushing work? So inconsiderate!

There's one shop (Bonnett's of Canton, Ohio) that's on so many of the comic books that I've looked at in the Grand Comics Database, I've wonder if they are the one's uploading the images. Here's the Ernie Comics (Ace Magazines, 1948) #nn [11-48] that I used for my first Turnabout Club re-title:

I've cleaned up the stamps from this shop on a few of the recaps that I've done. :-( Luckily, the stamps are pretty faded in most cases, so they have been fairly easy to clean up.

I thought this one could use a little change. It's 'A Choice of Sexes' submitted by suedenim, posted #6 on 11 Mar 2007.

I restored the color as best as I could, and slipped the title and illustration a little farther apart to accomodate the new body text.

I hope it's deserving of everyone's approval.
