It was pretty good, but unfortunately the concept wasn't explored as much as we might like. Not just because an Archie book isn't going to get very "explicit", but just structurally, a lot of pages are devoted to setting up the "argument" over who has it easier, girls or boys, and the mechanics of Salem and Sabrina's spell and counter-spell.
And there's something that's either a bit of a plot hole (or just weird mechanics), in that Salem's spell doesn't seem to directly change anything other than bodies. When Archie wakes up, for instance, her closet is full of guy clothes, and she borrows "nice" clothes from her mom (who used to be her dad... I guess spouses just changed closets?)
So while it's possible Reggie just borrowed a dress from her dad, I prefer the theory that the "real" Reggie actually has everything he needs to look like a cute girl already stored in his closet. :)
The story *is* for real, interestingly. It's not just a "speculative" thing. Nobody remembers it, but Archie really *did* spend a day as a girl... |
