Few things.
First, some people might be offended by me saying this but Since day one TG Caps has been a social dead zone. There have been efforts to get people talking but they have never been all that effective. This is not to say the people here aren't nice, and in fact some are far more receptive than some of the regulars at TG Comics. It's just TG Comics has the established community and it's in most active viewers line of sight.
Second, I expect this to slowly change as Femur becomes more paranoid, but also more open (weird mix). He is becoming obsessed with the legal side of things to the point of ridiculousness at times. I see his concerns. but they are shortsighted and not really well placed. it's the standard panic room effect, yes a Panic room is safe, and can be well stocked, but it is still a cage. At some point there has to be openness and trust or you will never come out and you will slowly starve. Femur is adamantly against two things that hurt him here in cyberland and I imagine in real life. Not being able to admit he was wrong and do what needs to be done because of his pride, and not being able to say "I don't know" Also because of his pride. I know this might seem like I'm disrespecting femur or that I am mad at him. I'm not. I think he and his site have a lot of potential and it has the great fortune of having gathered some good active community members. I only fear that this will not stay true if he doesn't admit these two things to himself and reach out for help. Not from me because we don't get along, but from someone.
Third, Many people are not going to do much but look over here just to see what was moved. This will raise the views but not the number of readers. I have found that the TGC community are great at staying silent when they don't like something (because they are afraid of being attacked)or are indifferent. There are exceptions, but often they are people who take the other extreme and that can be just as bad. (I tried to be a contrast to that and became a villain for it.) Many viewers seldom read just text stories all the way through, they skim looking for pictures first and if they don't like the pictures many (But not most) will not even try to read it. They are Great at giving praise when they like something. But frankly piss poor at giving a reason why they do or do not like it.
So The big question is, do you want feed back or do you want boot licking?
I haven't read it to this point because I am reading other things and pretty much could care less about "Power Rangers" Some of your side commentary and other requests have made me curious though and I will get around to reading it probably tomorrow. |
