I'm a big fan of Dan DeCarlo's artwork, and I captioned some of his cartoons and pin-ups. Some of these are set in a universe I'm creating tentatively called "The Company," in which young men are duped into becoming female assistants at a major corporation. Some of them don't take place inside that universe at all. I've made 47 total caps, I'll see if I can upload them all on this thread.

This is the end (for now). I have a few more that deal with (for lack of a better word) "kinkier" themes. I'm not sure what the exact rules for these boards are, but these should definitely do for the time being.

Great stuff! DeCarlo is one of my faves also! I've done about over 30 of his works in my MISH MASH albums.

I luv seeing the different treatments others take on stuff I've done too.

Great work! I like the whole "company" theme, but I'd like to see one of those ambitious interns turn the table and become the boss lady while the boss who changed him is reduced to him-bimbo receptionist :-) I especially liked the expressions and body language of the "new gurls" in #31 and #32. I'd like to use them - without your text, of course - for Vaingirls comics covers. Where did you find the originals?

Thanks for the positive feedback everybody! I'm not sure where I found each image, but they're all fairly easy to find just by typing "Dan DeCarlo pin-up" into a search engine. If I can find the exact spot, I'll let you know.

And Lorna, seeing your DeCarlo recaps is what inspired me to do this, so thanks for that too!

What's the relationship between Dan DeCarlo and Archie Comics? If you manage to overlook the va-va-voom proportions of the women, they have the same art style.

These are some great captions! Great choice for the artwork.

GrimGhost, I found this short write-up on Dan DeCarlo:

Pin Up Art of Dan DeCarlo

edited by Alex Chun

A handsome collection of rare pin-ups from the late cartoonist who defined Betty and Veronica's look. For nearly half a century, Dan DeCarlo was the Archie comic book artist and defined the look of every adolescent boy's dreams, Betty and Veronica, with their trademark upturned noses, tight sweaters, and barely-there mini-skirts. From 1956-1963, DeCarlo also produced hundreds of pin-up cartoons for the Humorama line of girlie digests, where his line drawings and exquisite ink-wash paintings shared the pages with Jack Cole, Bill Ward, and Bill Wenzel, and photos featuring Bettie Page. Culling through thousands of Humorama digests, Editor Alex Chun has selected the best of DeCarlo's ink wash pin-up work, with many featuring captions by Marvel Comics' Stan Lee. Along with collecting hundreds of long out-of-print images, the book also features an introductory essay by long time DeCarlo friend and current Bongo Comics creative director Bill Morrison.

Good question ! I noticed the similarities also, especially with all those redheads. This definately calls out for some transformed Archie captions.
