After seeing Seuzz's great work, I had to have a go at some crime-comic mods. Here's the first one.

While she's in a desperate situation, somehow I suspect that the skimpy, ripped dress wasn't from being captured but had to do with *why* she became female in the first place. ;)

Oh, I like it.

I like "Body Crime" logo, too. Could I persuade you to send me a high-quality file of it and the TG Comics logo you used? I can give you .psds of my "Body Crime" logos in recompense ...

Blam! And the body-thief gets what we call down here, the "Big Don't Argue". I'm *ahem* shooting for a kind of Frank Miller vibe here. Oh, and the heroine's name is Hannah, but the girls call her Han. Han shot first...

Ah-ha-ha! That's great!

That's real nice dialogue you've given her, and I think it gets across everything you really need without resort to the text box. That's not a reason to get rid of the text box, mind you--it adds interesting back story. I just mention it in case you added the box and its info out of concern that the dialogue didn't convey enough.

Thank you for your comments, Seuzz. The text box was part of the original cover.

Andi,

I am LOVING the crime covers that you and Seuzz are doing. My goodness, I always wanted to do crime covers back when I was doing cover captioning, but I could never think of an angle. You have both done a stellar job.

I suppose that, with the economic downturn, it's natural that TG Crime is on the rise!!!

I'm not sure about this one. Not clear enough, maybe? I had an Altered Fates story in mind, but it's based on a crime cover. Comments?

Edit: I decided to change this one from Body Crime to Altered Fates.

If you sat next to me, you'd see I am not an LOL kind of guy, but "Pilot Error" DID make me LOL. That is hilarious.

"Clear enough"? It seems clear enough to me, but your question does make me wonder if I'm missing some key detail. It's not clear to me that someone's body has been, is being, or will be stolen, which is what I tend to associate with the "Body Crime" title. (Others' mileage may vary.)

That is an awesome cover, and IMHO it would work just fine as an "Altered Fates": some of the best AF covers have crime themes.

Andi,

BLAM works for me. And PILOT ERROR is genius!

Thank you all for your kind comments.

On second thoughts, I agreed with Seuzz that Body Crime is a more appropriate title where the actual body or identity theft is the crime, and decided to make Pilot Error an Altered Fates cover (For those who came in late, the only changes are the title text and the date/number to keep my issues straight).

What I meant about "clear enough" was simply if I was getting the story over. The original cover forced me to use a rather large red "banner" (if that's the correct term), so I was naturally tempted to add text to fill in the background. I chose to try and tell the story through dialogue instead, but then started to second-guess myself.

Maybe this one's a bit complicated (as well as rather gruesome), but it was one of those where I knew just what I wanted to do with it as soon as I saw it.

The "husband" looks a real psycho. If I were the "wife" I'd be thinking about plugging him with that great big gat, and tipping him into the chemical vat too...

Hey, I'm glad to see you tackled that cover. It's been sitting on my hard drive for over a month, leaving me stymied. It's a relief to see someone getting it to work.

Attached was the only idea I could come up with (playing on that weird disconnect between the girl's dead-pan look and the guy's psychotic glee), but it was just too elephantine.
