In the 1940's, Hera, queen of the gods, sure that her husband Zeus' story that he's going down to earth lend his power to some kid named Billy is just another excuse so he can fool around takes the same journey her self, and on seeing the mess the world is in decides it might be a pretty good idea after all.

Deciding to give her power to a descendent of one of her priestesses of old, the only one she can find is a man, policeman Dan Cole, who when he says her name becomes

HOUSEWIFE MAN!

The man with the power of a 1000 wives

Or

The world's most beautiful super-man

Or

The dude with the killer legs

Or

What do you think Housewife Man catch phrase should be?

I had looked at issues of New Heroic Comics awhile back, and although I thought that there could be something interesting done with the ones with heroic females on the covers, I wasn't able to come up with anything myself. I think that GulliverArkham has come up with a very interesting and inventive take on the issues (and on superhero comics in general).

Considering the era that the comics are from (1946), shouldn't it be:

The guy with the killer gams.

Nice take on the covers. I'm impressed by the ingenuity shown. Thank you.

That's true SoCalSecrets, the only dudes then were Easterners out West.

Such as "Roy who's that their dude coming to the ranch?" said Gabby Haze to Roy Rogers in contemp.

I like them all (if you use SoCal's suggestion for gams). Perhaps they could be used in rotation. Or perhaps, Housewife Man had different catch-phrases during different time periods.

I've never seen the New Heroic logo before. I love it. Very mod for 1946.

When I first saw the New Heroic logo, I thought that it was probably a European comic book (one thing that the Grand Comic Database seems to do better than other comic book cover websites is cover European comics fairly well).

The Heroic Comics actually went through three very different logos. In 1940, it was Reg'lar Fellers Heroic Comics (see Reg'lar Fellers), which, despite the name, seems to have been filled with superheroes such as Hydroman and Purple Zombie.

Then in 1943 it became just Heroic comics which had a very patriotic, red, white & blue logo. The covers were full of WW II heroics, but the surprise for me is that they didn't have the caricatures of Germans and Japanese soldiers that were fairly typical of comics of that era.

Starting in 1946, New Heroic Comics covered acts of heroism by ordinary people until 1951 when it switched to Korean War heroics. The last few issues were back to ordinary heroics.
