It's great to see someone continuing to do
recaps of pulp paperback covers. It was also nice to know that you were inspired by
some of the
posts in the TG Comics forums on
modifying paperback covers.
You did a very nice job of cleaning up the cover and fitting the new text into the available space. I also liked your idea of a wizard as an artist--very imaginative and definitely not
the usual TG universe wizard.
I hope that we will be seeing more pulp paperback modifications from you (and possibly some comic book mods as well?).
[This post reminds me that I haven't done any paperback mods in awhile. I've got plenty of covers sitting in my to-do folders, but I just haven't had the time or energy to do them. As Raina said, they are lots of fun to do, but they also can be challenging and time-consuming. Part of the challenge for me is that I like to try to do as little as possible to the text to turn it into a TG storyline. For some, however, such as my "
Like Father, Like Son", I'll change
the original by modifying the cover graphics as well as not using much of the original cover text.]
