I'm slowly fleshing out the details of this Transfield/Avis Gurls sort of sub-universe. Transfield is a far suburb of Chicago, and entering it is sort of like entering a gender Twilight Zone where, as Dori says in one of this batch's covers, "Males often make the best, most desirable women." There is a somewhat parental connection with Vaingirls in Chicago, as the founders of the Avis club are/were all Vaingirls alumni. Members still meet at Vaingirls and the Vaingirls help with some, but not all, transformations - and, of course, Vaingirls Comics, through Dori, records the Club's activities. New in this batch are the facts that there is competition, now mostly friendly, between the girls and gurls in town and that 2007 finds us into at least the second generation of gurls.
