Back in the dim mists of the Silver Age, DC comics ran a Superboy story in which Clark Kent is transformed into a girl. A couple of years ago, I took that basic story and expanded to be the first of a projected new series. You can find my story at:

http://www.fmstories.com/stories/pop/ClairKent.txt

I wrote a second story, and got part way into a third. I'd always intended to do comic book covers for all three stories since the original comic story never had a cover. It does now, and here it is (I expect to do covers for the other two eventually):

Here's the cover for the third of my Super-Sister tales, which I've yet to finish and post on FM (I have yet to come up with a cover for the second tale, which *has* been posted there). You'll note Claire's hair is the wrong colour. This is because after several unsuccesful attempts to alter it I've given up. Just put it down to one of those coloring errors that occasionally occurred in the Silver Age.

Incidentally, a better URL for the first story is:

This lets you leave comments and access the second Super-Sister story - just click on my name.

Huh, that's strange, could've sworn I already left a comment to this thread....

I love the cover, looking forward to the story! I don't think I've read the second one yet either, so I need to rectify that....

I know what you mean about the hair color. I haven't found any convincing way to change hair to/from the classic "black and blue" comic book coloring. Just "reversing" the colors doesn't work too well, as it seems artists draw the blacks in light-colored hair quite differently from the blue highlights of black hair. Well, who's to say Claire didn't experiment with dyes and wigs? Girls do that sort of thing, ya know!

Only other minor quibble: "Grown-up" Claire's skin tone doesn't quite match the look of the Silver Age flesh

Just did a big update of the site. Took the liberty of adjusting Super-Sister's hair and the skin tone on the adult version of Claire Kent on this cover. Hope it's okay with you, BobH. If not, I'll post the original version.

I also took the liberty of posting the first Super-Sister story to the site.

femur: delighted you corrected the hair (something I'd failed at) and happy to have the Super-Sister story posted here. However, you've got the 'ex-boyfriend' and 'ex brother-in-law' captions the wrong way round on the others you added.

Eep! Make that @the ex-girlfriend' and 'The ex brother-in-law@ that need to be flipped.

Femur posting my first Super-Sister story inspired me to knuckle down and finally do a cover for my second. Here it is, having taken a lot more work than I'd anticipated:

For those of you who might be interested and haven't yet noticed, femur has now posted the story of mine that 'The Return of Superboy' is the cover to under 'Modified Stuff' in the links at the top of this page.

Also, for those who find this kind of stuff interesting, I'm posting the original Superboy cover I modified to make this one. I think I feminized the Superboy figure enough to make it work but there's a limit to how much you can do with MS Paint.

I loved the second story! And you're not gonna tell us who that mystery man at the end is, are you?

Given how much time it took, it now seems kind of deranged, but last weekend I found myself wondering what the hypothetical Silver Age comic my second Super-Sister would've been an adaptation of might have looked like, and realizing I could actually produce the first three pages with just a little cutting and pasting. Hah!

So, anyway, here as a teaser for the story itself - cover above, story under 'Modified Stuff' - are those pages, yellowed to varying degrees, alas (damned 40+ year old comics!):

Very nice - can't imagine why they didn't do it this way in the first place!

I like how on Page 3 where it seems like Supewoman has opened up to Supersister about how lonely she is and Supersister has just eagerly responded, Superwoman says, "So same time next week?"

I don't mean any offense, I really like the comic, it just seems like a sketch comedy bit or something. Makes me laugh.

mingle: You're right. Transitions in the Silver Age could be abrupt, but not usually *that* abrupt. I've reworked that page a bit, which includeds recaptioning the final panel to match the rest. A better-looking effort, I think. So here's the new version (old one deleted):

At the end of my second Super-Sister tale I mention several other adventures in passing that occurred between the two. This is the cover for one of those stories.
Ah, that pesky Red-K strikes again!
