841 - Super duped

Original: Opposite Forces comics, #1

Here's proof that it's better to think before you speak.

842 - Hat trick

Original: Patsy Walker comics, #72

The lampshade hat has got to be the ultimate over the top partier stereotype for men. Well We at Vaingirls Comics say what's good for the gander is good for the guuse. Sooo, "Party on, dude ... ette!"

843 - When Harry met Stan

Original: Patsy Walker comics ,#82 - whenever I hit a creator block with these covers, I go to my Patsy Walker series folder. My experience is that many more of the PW originals have TG potential than any other comic series' covers.

Did Harry see Stan as just a convenient scapegoat to get himself out of trouble, or did he stage the whole raid with the purpose of framing Stan and getting him into dresses, or was there something entirely different going on? I made the cover and even I don't know. Make up your own story.

844 - Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show

Original: Love Letters comics, #37

Not all female biological parents are mothers.

845 - Disneyfied!

Original: Another from Lorna; thanks, sis.

This one was inspired by my own little tree year old granddaughter, who loves the Disney princesses, especially Ariel. And, yes, I do play princesses with her. Ah, wishful thinking ...

846 - Fairy tail

Original: Barbie Fashion comics, #22

In the previous issue (845) Ariel/grandpa is wearing a dress, so that means "she" is in her on land form, with legs. For this sequel, I imagined "her" falling into the dolphin tank at Sea World, and grandpa experiencing the rest of the change brought on by his granddaughter's wish.

847 - Grace under pressure!

Original: Girls' Romances comics, #132

When I got done with this one and took in the final product, I thought, "My gosh, I've created a cover for a Janet Stickney story!" So, Janet, this one's for you, sis. Write the story.

848 - Teamwork

Original: All-Story Love Stories magazine, September 8, 1934

The original's title was "The Ladies Liked Him", so I just gave that a TG twist. When I was in my teens, I mostly hung out with girls, and i'm sure they thought of me, if not consciously, then subconsciously, as one of the girls. All I got out of it was having my nails painted a couple of times ... darn! :-)

849 - Wondur Gurls

Original: Wonder Woman comics, #38

After having done 845 & 846, I was sort of thinking in terms of generations, so when I found this, I thought why not generations of wonder women - but, of course, they wouldn't REALLY be women - at least not female ones.

850 - The ultimate dress

Original: Our Love Story comics, #38

While a maternity dress is probably the most female of dresses, I think almost everyone would agree that a wedding gown is the most feminine. I can't imagine a CD who wouldn't want to wear one.

In this week's batch --

VG 961 ("What War Hath Wrought") -- what a clever cover, both in concept and artwork. Also, it's nice to know that I'm not the only fan of alt-history.

VG 964 ("Child of the Green") -- an original and clever TG use of that science-fiction art. The font you used for "VAINGIRLS" was especially well chosen. Poor woman -- instead of getting a yeast infection, she gets an algae infection!

VG 966 ("Hero-ine or Heartbreaker?") -- too bad that's not a real story, because I'd love to know how it plays out.
