Two photoshopped Green Lantern covers

As I remarked to Suezz a few weeks ago, a Green Lantern power ring would be dandy for changing someone's sex. But oddly, DC Comics has never written such a story; I've fixed that oversight.

I did the manips with Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. But "paintshopproed" is awkward to say. ;-)

The cover of the babelicious purple-gowned woman standing in front of the (blue-skinned) Guardians was made by combining Green Lantern no. 40 and Young Love no. 68.

For those who are not readers of Green Lantern comics, know that due to a "necessary impurity" in the Green Lantern power rings, they do not work on anything yellow. The villain Sinestro has a yellow Power Ring, which means that in theory, Hal Jordan or any other Green Lantern is helpless against Sinestro.

I used good ol' Comic Sans MS. But I did the balloons in all caps, because that's what the original covers used.

"The Ring Or The Rouge" is especially good. Who wouldn't go rouge- I mean rogue, for a body like that.

Early in my cover-recapping career I used mixed-case fonts, before waking up to the fact that real comics pretty much never did so. I started out using Comic Sans MS, but later switched first to Digital Strip, and later Lint McCree.

Going Rouge: Sarah Palin is the Green Lantern/babe in purple ???? "Have you priced a good wardrobe yet? ... oh, wait, the Party paid for that!" Can she field dress a Sinestro? If so, she moves to GL124!

Good Job!

I like the nice detail of the green glow around Purple Babe's hand.

(Opps - just discovered Sarah's book is Going RoGUe. ... Oh, hell, I'll leave the comment anyway :-)

Jezzi, they're working on a cure for dyslexia -- thank dog for that! ;-)

In the original Young Love cover, Purple Babe was facing toward the right, and it was her right hand toward the viewer. That would have been the logical place to put the Power Ring, on her unencumbered hand that faced the viewer, but that would have required flopping the original Green Lantern no. 40 cover. As much work as it took to flop the Young Love girl and move her to the GL cover, flopping and reworking the GL cover would have been three times the work.

*sigh* Both Andi and Jezzi thought that I typoed rogue instead of intending rouge. It never occurred to me that this one word would cause so much confusion.
