Presenting The Originals!
481 - Love Romances comics
482 - She's Josie comics
483 - An Anais Toudouze illustration for "Le Follet Courier des Salons" A Paris fashion plate magazine. The date for this particular plate wasn't given, but the magazine began publication in 1829. This and other fashion illustrations from a number of eras can be found at a great site called "Fashion-Era" It can be found at:
http://www.fashion-era.com/index.htm
484 - Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarf's comic (may be a book)
485 - Harry Schaare's illustration for a story, "The Lost Soldier" in a 1955 issue of The Saturday Evening Post. Schaare's work as well as that of many other magazine, book, and comic illustrators can be found at American Art Archives:

#481 - In the original, fond parents watching their daughter being proposed to - Well, in TG land, of course their daughter is or was their son.
#482 - Josie before the Pussycats. I did this one right before going to a cooking class I'm taking.
#483 - When young ladies became of marriageable age, if it could be afforded, they were taken to london for a "season" where they were on display to all the eligible bachelors, with marriage as the goal. What better way for a formidable woman, a mother or perhaps aunt, to teach a delicate but misogynistic male relative respect for women that by making "her" go through such a season. (I learned about seasons by reading regency romances - I am such a gurl! :-)
#484 - Oh, come on: EVERYONE has to have had thoughts about poor Snow out there with seven old men. In the words of Tom Lehrer, "When correctly viewed, everything is lewd." (from his song, "Smut") ... of course, they WERE diamond miners :-)
#485 - As a U.S. history teacher, The Civil War was my favorite period, and became my field of expertise. Harry Schaare did a numbeer of Civil War illustrations, so you'll probably see more TG twisted versions of them.

I found Momma's ....boy(?) hard to follow, the rest are pretty good though.

Pretty good set, Jezzi. Great idea about dwarf #8; someone should write that version of the fairy tale. (Hmm, new meaning for the word 'fairy'?) Love the blonde in the first cover; man, those are some understanding parents!
