I know it's far too wordy for a real cover, but I've been struggling with it for ages, and just haven't come up with a better solution that tells the three-cornered story any better. I tried a variation which had less dialogue, but that one had a narrative text in the black shadow on the right-hand side, and I don't think it was an improvement.

I'm sick of looking at it, so I'm going to run it up the flagpole...

And now for something completely different. Less text, more suds!

I very nearly made this a Spells R Us cover, as a sequel to "A Successful Transplant" with the nurse in the foreground contemplating her lovely engagement ring (naturally her fiancé is a handsome surgeon), but thinking of the magic ring with which Suzie and Katie stole her identity, but it started to turn into another text-fest, so I ditched it.

Hi, I love the nurse one. Speaking as a nurse, over the years in my real life I have seen many doctors as interns deferring to nurses when they were unsure. Later of course many became as arrogant as Matron Bastinado points out, so I'm on her side! **LOL** Great cap.

NICE play on words, sis! For the same idea, see my VG #459.

Another issue of Altered Fates, inspired by Paul1954's story Hostile Takeover, which was inspired by one of Femur's caps. Round and round and round it goes, but where it stops, no one knows. Based on this original. I thought about giving the girl in the background (Isabel or Pamela presumably) a speech bubble making some "rub it in" comment, but I'm not sure that the reading order would work out.

Nice one! I agree the temptation to give orange girl some lines is great, but bubble placement would be awkward - AND, if she's union you'd have to pay her a lot more

Sometimes I look at old work, and just cringe. Sometimes I feel impelled to tweak it using some of the new techniques and tools I've learned since. This is an example which is a rework of the first Altered Fates covers I ever did. I considered changing the title to Heir Apparent to Apparently Hermana, but it would look a bit squashed.

Edit: I attached the wrong version of the reworked file. Fixed now.

I like the changes except for the speech balloon text; I think the original non-italic text is more legible. I'd keep the blouse red for contrast.
Hugs, Jezzi

BTW, I feel the same as you and have played around with updating some of my earlier covers, too.

You could have made her bald and used Heir Apparent to Hair non-apparent ... well, perhaps not

How about the new version above using Digital Strip instead of Lint McCree? I stuck with italic throughout, however, because the bold type for both fonts is italic.

This is a cover where I left the whole story to be inferred, rather than trying to spell it out. I think it works however, and it isn't too obscure what has happened?
