It came from ...
416 - Action for Men magazine
417 - Girls' Romance comics
418 & 419 - art for 1950's magazine Ads used in a desk calendar I received as a gift.
420 - Lovers comics
#416 - This was inspired by the real Sisterhood Vigilantes books by Fern Michaels. So far she hasn't had her girls change any nogoodnik men into gurls, but I keep hoping.*
#417 - This was inspired by the character of the mother in Anon Alsop's "The Linking Spell". A reluctant Anne and a bewildered John will play their happy roles for a mother who has convinced herself that they really are happy because that is what SHE wants and SHE knows best. Anon's story made me so mad I wanted to throw the computer across the room.
#418 and #419 just begged for TG treatment. They are both inspired by the works of my dear sister, Gwen. In 419, standard bad boys to good gurls is implied, but in 418, did those boys actually misbehave or is mom just wacko? Gwen's stories don't usually have happy endings, and I can't see Mary, Betsy, or Barbara being to happy with things; BUT I like happy endings, so I threw in Molly, who has at the least, a "If life hands you lemmons ..." attitude. ... And I LOVE the matching outfits in 418 despite whatI wrote :-)
#420 - I've wanted to do something with this cover for quite awhile, but never could come up with what I felt was just right, the challenge being to work in the side pics to fit the story of the main pic. Fern Michaels and her Sisterhood to the rescue again - only this time the sisterhood's punishment doesn't work as he/she is happy as either womanizer or harlot.
* - Anyone catch that I got the name of one of my own Vaingirls wrong? Stephie should really be Jessica.
