Where they came from:
376 - Weird Science
377 - Wilbur
378 - This was the intro illustration for a 1949 magazine story "Transfer at Khartoum" by Laurence Kirk. I found it at a website, but can't remember which one.
379 - Wonder Woman
380 - Betty and Veronica
#376 - As soon as I saw this cover, the "99 Bottles of Beer" song started running through my mind.
#377 - I have no idea where this idea came from except that once the basic idea that the blonde was the party girl's brother was in place, the Loralie Lee (MM) quote from "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" - "Men often have difficulty saying no to a girl such as I." - influenced the rest.
#378 - I've had this pic for a long time and it has always seemed like it was perfect for TG, but I could never get the concept and dialog quite right. This time I just thought, "What the hell, I'll post it anyway."
#379 - This cover seemed just too easy to turn TG, so I added a little twist ... not realizing I'd done it before in issue #311.
#380 - The original was also about a canoe trip, and, on a real canoe trip one time, I, myself, fell in and was dependant on borrowed clothes although not (darn!) girls' clothes. Also, while camping a different time, a friend and I WERE rescued by Girl Scouts, though from hunger, not drowning. (LOVE those somemores!)
