Ahh the Men's Magazines of the 50's & 60's what a genre!

The heroes of the old Dime Novels, gone and pretty much forgotten

Good work, Ex men # 1 is both LOL & inriguing. Does the artist have the kindness to shange Sue into the guy so they can at least still get married?
Real is both funny & clever! Got to watch out for Hoo Doo!

Brave and Bold is GREAT !! Where did you find the original? Are there more issues?

Ex-Men is great, too, but if both women are supposed to look the same, shouldn't the hair color of one be changed so they match?

I'm still not sure about the color changing feature with GIMP and did not want to risk it.

Some of which are pretty funny looking at them today, if you look at one of the storypapers that come up under "masked women" you find that the featured story next week is something about "Frank the Crank, the Queerest Boy in the World."

REAL is... unreal! The artist seems to have had rather strange ideas about this wide brown land. Presumably the Aborigines are prominently waving boomerangs to make sure that we realise that: Yes, this is Australia!.

Ex-Men is good. Colour-changing in GIMP is tricky. I usually use the Color Balance tool with a mask to restrict the changes to the area I want, but it always takes a fair amount of fiddling around.

That old dime-novel cover works well with the story line. How nice of "Ping the wily Mandarin" to provide such a flattering outfit for his prisoner. I notice that it's really a half-dime novel, and wonder what else you could buy for five cents in 1910.

Real was a magazine that was seldom if ever "real," one amazing cover has the hero in a swamp fending off an attack by turtles!

One of which can be seen flying though the air having lunched itself at his face while another chews on his neck.

So my title was in keeping with the spirit of the old real Real.

I like Ex-Men 2 & 3. The cover in three is bizarre. It looks as if the lady in red has bumped off bearded-uniform-guy because he bought her the wrong stockings: "You disgusting incompetent! I said sandlefoot!" BLAM!
