Vaingirls #251 - #255: Five issues, one five part story!

A week or so ago, I downloaded a bunch of Betty and Veronica covers, so I decided this series of five Vaingirls would be all modified Archie publications covers. The first one to catch my eye was #252, because I remember my mom, at about age 80, living in a retirement community in Florida, wearing a top just like the one Betty is holding. That provided the idea for the cover. It was intended to be a stand alone story till I saw #251 and betty's joy and Veronica's frown gave me the idea that it could be a pre-story for #252. Then I decided to go for broke, find three more and make a five part series. And that is the genesis for "My Trans-Sister". The first four are all B & V and all similar artistically. For #255 I went way back to Archie #11, Dec. 1944. B & V sure look different!

A new challenge!

It's always interesting to tell a continuing story across multiple covers. I've tried to bring it off a couple of times. I think 251 and 252 especially work very well together.

From that last cover all I can say is, too bad they didn't have the internet in the 40's!


It looks like it's from the 40's of 50's right?
