Witchery 23

"I don't believe you, Jerry. Laurie told me she'd never cheat on me again. And I believe her."

"Why am I not surprised you believe her, not me? Unfortunately, Tom, it's still the truth."

"So you keep saying," replied Tom, looking at his friend and shaking his head. "Where's your proof?"

"Are you and Laurie going out tonight?" asked Jerry, instead of answering Tom's question.

"No, but that proves nothing," replied Tom. "Laurie called earlier to let me know she was going to visit her sick grandmother."

"How very convenient," remarked Jerry. "Laurie's gone visiting her sick grandmother on the night of the Spring Valley Young Men's Club annual open dance."

"Open dance my ass. That's a joke! It's only open if you're a girl," snapped Tom. "Those snobs call it an 'open dance' so they can check out and hit on the hottest chicks in town." Tom stared at his friend. "I hope you're not gonna try telling me Laurie's going there tonight. Gimme a break! She would never go there, especially by herself."

"That's probably true, but then she's not going alone," replied Jerry. "She's going to the dance with Kirk Mitchell."

"Kirk Mitchell? That two-bit son-of-a-bitch! Don't make me laugh." In spite of himself, Tom smiled at the thought. "If Laurie was gonna cheat on me, it definitely wouldn't be with someone like him. She likes that butt-kissing asshole even less than I do."

"Something must have changed. Even if he is a prick, it might be his money," replied Jerry. "However, my sister told me Laurie was going to the dance with Kirk tonight."

"Your sister told you that? I assume we're talking about your sister Josie the Bitch," snarled Tom. "As long as I've known her, she's been nothing but a source of gossip and rumor. Why would you ever believe anything she said?"

"That's easy. She and Laurie are best friends," replied Jerry. "Josie showed me several pictures of Laurie and Kirk together."

"Probably fakes." Tom didn't know why his friend was trying to cause more problems with his girlfriend. They already had more than their fair share. "I'll tell you what, dude. We'll go over and talk to Laurie after she gets home from her grandmother's. Maybe you'll believe her when she answers your question face to face."

"That's gonna be a problem, Tom. Laurie has nothing to gain from telling us the truth."

"She's already told me truth. However, she's unlikely to be happy about being questioned about her whereabouts," said Tom. "But what else can we do?"

"I'm glad you asked me that. We can go to the dance," replied Jerry. "Once we're there, you'll be able to see for yourself how Laurie's been cheating on you. Even you must believe what you see with your own two eyes."

Tom stared dumbfounded at Jerry. "We can... go to... the dance?" He couldn't believe what he'd heard. "How are we supposed to manage that? I'm not a member. You're not a member. And no member, not that we know many, is going to invite us to their Club tonight. That's one of their unwritten rules for this dance."

"That's okay. There's another way for us to get inside."

"Another way! What the hell are you talking about?" Tom stared at Jerry for a moment. "There is no other way!"

"Yes, there is."

"Did someone hit your head with a hammer? Don't you remember? The only non-members that have any chance of getting into their little affair tonight are girls. And they'd better be pretty or they won't get in either." Slowly, Tom shook his head. "This may have slipped your mind, but the last time I checked, neither of us were girls. Even with super-industrial strength makeovers, neither of us is walking through their front door."

"Don't worry about it, Tom. We won't have any problems getting in."

"Why not?"

"We're getting magical makeovers; that's why. When we arrive, we'll really be a couple of pretty girls," replied Jerry. "It's the perfect plan; don't you see? If we're actually girls, nobody - that includes Laurie - will ever recognize us."

"Magical makeovers?" Tom shook his head. "What the hell kinda strange shit have you been smoking, dude?" he asked in sheer disbelief. "And why aren't you sharing it with me?"

"It's not like that. I've got magic potions. One will turn us into girls and the other one will make us boys again."

"Really? Magic potions?" Tom was dumbfounded. He was convinced his friend had lost his mind. "Where did you happen to find these magic potions?"

"I didn't find them. I had my sister mix them up," replied Jerry. "Did I ever tell you that Josie's a witch?"

"A witch? You mean, as in the Wicked Witch of the West... that kind of witch?" asked Tom. "That's awfully close to the word I've always used in referring to your sister, you know. How long has that dumb bitch thought she was a witch?"

"Josie's not dumb. She's been a witch her whole life," replied Jerry. "It's something Josie inherited from our mother's side of the family. Mom got it from Grandma, just like Grandma got it from her mother."

"If she's supposed to be a witch, wouldn't that make you a warlock?"

"Naw, it doesn't work that way. I'm just an ordinary mundane guy. Since my little brother Dick and I are male, neither of us, unlike Josie, can inherit whatever we need from Mom to be witches. In my family being a witch is simply a girls only thing."

"What a bummer!"

"It's not so bad!" replied Jerry. "So? Are you ready?"

"Ready? Ready for what?"

"To take the potion, of course. Once we've turned into girls, we might need some extra time for getting ready."

Tom wasn't convinced by his friend's tall tale. He was no believer in magic or magic potions. Nor did he, for that matter, believe in witches. "Why are you taking this potion?"

"Josie didn't think it was a good idea for you to go the Men's Club alone. And truthfully, I have to agree with her. You know how those guys are. I can't go inside with you if I'm a guy. There's always safety in numbers, you know."

Tom nodded. "That actually sounds like a good idea." Of course, Tom was still less than convinced anything unusual would happen. At the same time, he decided this might provide him a way not to ask Laurie where she'd been tonight. "I'll tell you what, Jerry. "If this potion fails to change us into girls, you have to drop the whole idea of Laurie going to the dance with Kirk Mitchell."

"That's fine with me," replied Jerry. He couldn't help but smile as he wondered what his friend would think once they were girls. After handing Tom one of the small vials labeled simply "GIRL", he took the other for himself. "On three," he said calmly.

"One!"

They unstoppered the vials."

"Two!"

Together they lifted the vials to their lips.

"Three!"

As if they were one, they chugged the potions.

Tom felt somewhat disoriented as a wave of dizziness swept through him. For a moment, two at the most, his stomach was a little queasy and he felt rather peculiar. Relief swiftly flooded through him once those odd feelings passed.

For several long seconds Tom stared at the brown-haired girl now standing right where Jerry had been. "Who the hell are you?" he asked the confused, pretty girl. The dulcet soprano sounds coming out of his mouth caught him completely by surprise. A hasty examination followed. He now possessed long blonde hair and a pair of boobs, along with an assortment of other female body parts. "Damnit! That shit worked!" He shook his head slowly back and forth. That damn bitch Josie really is a witch!" Suddenly, he looked over at the girl again. "Damn! Is that really you in that hot sexy bod, Jerry?"

"It's really me, but I'm feeling kinda strange," replied Jerry. "I hope you won't mind me saying this, Tom, but you've turned into one totally hot-looking fox."

"Thanks... I think," replied Tom. "Although you sorta remind me a little of your sister Josie, you're not too bad-looking wearing a dress yourself."

"A dress?" came Jerry's surprised reply.

Only then did each of them realize their clothes had changed along with their bodies. Although Tom wondered how his drinking a potion could change the clothes he'd been wearing, he decided not to mention anything to Jerry. He didn't want to look stupid. Even though Jerry had been surprised, the change in his attire apparently wasn't bothering him.

If nothing else, having their clothes change solved a problem of finding something to wear. Of course the clothes they were currently wearing weren't altogether appropriate for wearing to the Men's Club Dance.

As it turned out, things had an odd way of working out. Tom and Jerry didn't need nearly as much time to get ready as either of them had first thought.

Jerry had decided he had insufficient time to go home and change. In any event, it didn't matter. He had no idea what clothes he'd wear tonight. It wasn't as if he owned a dress other than one he had on. And, aside from being home, Tom was in much the same situation.

When they'd gone to Tom's room to think it over, they'd been taken by surprise. His room had changed into a girl's room. Nothing overtly reminiscent of a male could be seen. Try as they might, not a single stitch of male clothing could be found.

But feminine attire was another matter altogether.

His dresser was filled with panties and bras and nylons and the like. Atop his dresser were dozens of strange items he had no idea what they were. His closet was filled to near overflowing with dresses, skirts, and blouses, giving him a varied, nicely assorted, female wardrobe.

Fortunately, the girls Tom and Jerry had become were about the same size and build. That certainly hadn't been the case when they'd been boys. Although it seemed likely his closets were similarly filled, there was no real need for Jerry to go home first. He could wear some of Tom's clothes. It wasn't as if they were going to be girls that long.

Both of them had changed quickly. Neither really believed how quickly they'd changed clothes. Strangely, it seemed as if they'd been wearing dresses, along with all those other garments girls wore, their whole lives.

"It must be the potion again," remarked Tom, looking at his reflection in the new mirror sitting atop the dresser. He even liked the gown he was wearing. Red was so his color.

"It must be," agreed Jerry.

Makeup went on just as easily. No one watching them would have considered today the first day they'd worn makeup. Once again, they decided it must be something about the potion. It seemed a logical conclusion. Girls wore makeup. Since they were going to be girls, they needed to wear makeup. If they didn't, someone would likely get suspicious.

Once they were ready, Tom called for a taxi. Taking a taxi made far more sense than taking one of their easily recognizable cars. Too many questions might be asked if they drove one of their cars. Not a single eyebrow would raise when they arrived in a taxi.

They sat quietly in the taxi on their way to the Young Men's Club. Both of them felt the eyes of the cabbie on them. He'd so obviously adjusted his rear view mirror to get a better view of his two riders in the back seat.

Jerry and Tom breathed sighs of relief when the taxi pulled into the Club parking lot. They were surprised the cabbie got out and opened the doors for them.

"How much?" asked Jerry after stepping out of the taxi.

"Fare's four, seventy-five," replied the grinning cabbie. "But if one of you hot sexy babes wants to give me a kiss instead, I'll call it even. What do you say?"

Jerry and Tom glared at the cabbie.

Tom reached into his purse. "Here's a five," he snapped.

"You can keep the change," added Jerry.

The cabbie just laughed as he got back into his cab. As he drove away, he wondered if he was losing his touch. More often than not, using his line on any hot sexy babe heading into the Men's Club resulted in a lot more than some measly two bit tip. And every now and again, he got lucky. However, it seemed more likely those two dolls were just a couple cheap broads looking to snag some rich dude.

"When we leave, call a different taxi company."

"I was thinking the same thing."

"Let's make this as quick as possible," said Jerry, as they walked into the Hall. As he'd expected, no one challenged their entry.

"I'm with you on that one too," replied Tom, as several pair of male eyes turned in their direction. "However, this could take a while. You need to be satisfied Laurie isn't cheating on me."

"Or you need to find out that she is. That shouldn't take nearly as long providing they're here." Jerry began feeling uncomfortable. He didn't like how all the guys in the hall kept looking at them like they were sides of beef. It didn't help that he had a real good idea what thoughts were running through their minds.

It didn't take them very long to find Laurie. She was dancing, rather closely, with Kirk Mitchell. Tom wasn't a happy camper with that discovery. And the way they were looking at each other left even less to Tom's imagination. He turned toward his friend. "I guess you were right all along, Jerry. It looks like that damn bitch has been cheating on me again."

Although neither Tom nor Jerry noticed, Laurie looked over in their direction for just a moment. Even though Josie had told her they would, she was still surprised they'd actually come. She was also disappointed that Tom hadn't believed her.

"Now that you know the truth, Tom, can we get the hell out of here?" asked Jerry. "I don't know about you, but it really creeps me out having all these guys staring at us all the time."

"That sounds like a plan, Jerry."

Not so fast boys... or let's make that girls, thought Laurie. Having all these guys constantly staring at you might creep you out now, but very soon you and Tom will start craving their attentions. Once your minds adjust to the facts that you're girls named Jeri and Tommi, I'm sure you'll quickly become the most popular girls here.

Making sure Kirk would not hear what she said next, Laurie softly mumbled something in words he would have never understood any way.

"What's so interesting over there, Tom?" Jerry could easily see how intently Tom was staring across the hall. However, he could see nothing in the group of guys standing around that could possibly be of any interest."

"Do you see that guy over there?" smiled Tom. "Don't you think he's got a cute butt?"

"What!" exclaimed Jerry. "You're a guy! How the hell can you be thinking some other guy has a cute butt?"

"Why not? I just call 'em like I see 'em, you know," replied Tom. Even as he spoke, Tom knew something in what Jerry had said kinda made sense. At the same time, Tom also knew nothing Jerry had said changed the truth of his statement. "It's not my fault that guy's got this really cute butt."

Jerry wondered what was making Tom act so strangely. After deciding the potion must be its cause, he wondered why he hadn't been affected. Perhaps it was only a matter of time. Going straight home and drinking the "BOY" potions suddenly seemed like a really good idea. "I think we'd better leave and go home, Tom."

"Why? What's the big hurry?" replied Tom, sounding puzzled. "We just got here."

"What?" Jerry shook his head slowly. "I thought we'd decided we were leaving once you found out Laurie was cheating on you."

"We did," replied Tom. "But after thinking it over, I've changed my mind."

"What do you mean you changed your mind?"

"I changed my mind. It's my prerogative, Jerry," smiled Tom. "I figured if Laurie's gonna cheat on me, then I should just cheat on her right back?" That logic made perfect sense to Tom... and yet somehow, something about it didn't. "You must know I'm right."

"What are you thinking? You're not making a lot of sense, Tom." Once again Jerry shook his head. "In case you've forgotten, you're not quite yourself at the moment. I can't really see any of the girls here being interested in you right now."

"You're right; I forgot about that. But that's all right, I can work with it," replied Tom. "I kinda think Laurie would feel a lot more jealous if she saw me hanging out with that guy over there with the cute sexy butt."

"You've got to be kidding!" snapped Jerry. "What's gotten into you all of a sudden, Tom?"

"I don't really know," replied Tom. "I kinda know I shouldn't, but I just don't see anything all that wrong with looking at some cute sexy guy's tight little tush if I wanna."

"Cute sexy guy? Tight little tush?" Jerry couldn't believe what he was hearing. What had that potion done to him? "Would you listen to what you're saying, Tom? Are you sure you're feeling all right?"

"I feel just fine, silly. You're always worrying too much about everything, you know." Tom began smiling. "Don't look now, Jerry, but Mr. Cute Buns is on his way over. Do you want me to find out if he's got a friend for you?"

"What are you talking about?" Jerry decided some weird side effects of the potion must be adversely affecting Tom. That was the only rational explanation for his odd behavior. "Snap out of it, Tom! You're not really a girl!" How could he possibly think of looking at another guy like that? "You're not interested in guys! Neither am I!"

Jerry was pissed his sister hadn't warned him something like this was possible. He would have never let Tom take the potion if he'd had any idea this might happen. He would sit down and have a long talk with Josie once he and Tom were boys again. At the moment, all he had to do was figure out some way of convincing him to leave. "At least, I haven't been affected," he mumbled.

Jerry still couldn't believe how Tom kept smiling as the hunk with that tight little ass of his kept getting closer. Just as Jerry was about to say something to Tom, he shivered momentarily. "What the hell was that?" he grumbled. For a moment, he felt a little bit dizzy. He was glad whatever it was passed quickly.

"Hi, beautiful," said the smiling young man once he was near enough to speak without shouting.

"Hi yourself, you big handsome hunk."

Jerry shook his head. Had he heard what he'd just thought he'd heard? He knew something wasn't right. Something suddenly seemed different. Somehow, something must have changed. Unfortunately, Jerry hadn't the foggiest clues about what was different or what might have changed.

"I'm Brad Lawson," smiled the young man with the cute tush.

"I'm Tommi Harris."

So that's Brad Lawson, thought Jerry, as he decided that must be the problem. He wasn't much. Whatever girls saw in Brad was a complete mystery to him. He also couldn't believe how easily Tommi was letting herself be picked up by someone like Brad Lawson. That just wasn't like her at all.

Brad slid his arms around Tommi and kissed her. Even worse, Tommi was kissing him back.

Seeing that made Jerry wish he hadn't asked Josie for the potion that had turned him into a girl. He should have known better than think Tommi needed him looking out for her. He'd known her since they were kids and that had never happened in all that time. Tommi was a big girl; she could take care of herself. If only he'd possessed the cute kinda butt Tommi had always had a thing for.

But something else seemed wrong. Jerry simply couldn't put a finger on whatever it was. Taking a quick look around, he saw Laurie Palmer dancing with Kirk Mitchell. Since Josie had told him they were dating, he knew that wasn't the problem. Since she=d starred in a few of his fantasies, Jerry knew exactly what Kirk saw in Laurie. But whatever it was Laurie saw in Kirk was another mystery. There sure seemed to be a lot of mysteries today.

From out of the blue, Jerry had this strange thought that Laurie had been seeing someone else. Although it seemed right, Jerry couldn't remember who that someone else might have be. Perhaps it was all in his imagination. "If I can find Tommi, I'll ask her. She usually knows things like that," he mumbled to himself. "If I don't find her, I suppose I can ask Josie later, providing I remember."

Jerry found Laurie's smile confusing. If he didn't know better, he'd think she knew something he didn't. But given that Laurie had never seen this girl he was before, that seemed unlikely. More likely, she was sizing up the competition. But even more confusing was watching Laurie's smile swiftly widen further when she saw how Tommi and Brad were intertwined. That was strange and didn't make sense. It wasn't like Tommi and Laurie had ever chased after the same guy.

Everything was so confused.

Having no idea what any of it meant, Jerry could only shake his head. It didn't really help.

"Why don't you go over and get us something to drink, Kirk?" suggested Laurie.

"Whatever you say, babe." replied Kirk. Not that knew it, it wasn't as if he had a choice.

"I wonder how long it will be before I tire of him," said Laurie, as she watched Kirk walk toward the bar. "I don't imagine it will take long."

She wasn't overly concerned about anyone overhearing her, since no one would hear what she really said. Looking over at Tommi held tightly in Brad's embrace, Laurie smiled once again. "Silly girl. You should have listened to me, Tommi. I thought you believed me. You should have known how much I've always disliked having people not believe me. On the other hand, what's done is done and this would have happened to you sooner or later any way. In any event, it sure looks like your mind has adjusted very quickly and quite nicely to being a girl."

As Laurie watched, Brad whispered something in Tommi's ear that made her giggle. They kissed again. Only a few seconds later, they were heading for the front door.

Laurie almost felt sorry for Jerry. Her spell that had taken Tommi so completely had only been partially effective on him. That came as no great surprise. Josie had told her she'd probably need to cast a stronger spell on her brother.

Her best friend Josie had always wanted a sister. She'd thought having one brother was more than enough. Having two of them was just too redundant. Unfortunately, her mother had seen to it that Josie's hands were tied. She could make no physical changes in either of her brothers without their consent. Nor was she allowed to make any kind of mental changes to her brothers with or without their consent. Violating either of her mother's decrees would cost Josie her powers. She didn't like the idea of becoming some mere mundane.

Josie had jumped at her opportunity when Jerry asked for her help. Laurie couldn't remember how many times they'd discussed the possibilities of what they were doing. Josie had told her brother all about Kirk. The pictures had been Laurie's idea. It was Josie who'd suggested they could go to Dance after taking a gender-changing potion she could provide. She'd been ecstatic when Jerry had agreed of his own free will.

His agreement to be changed had been the one necessity of their plan. Once he'd agreed, as soon as the potion had changed him, he'd also, quite unknowingly, implicitly agreed to let other witches alter his mind as they would. Of course, one of them would have to know that he had before he could undo it by drinking the other potion.

That was where Laurie came in. With their coven being a witch short, she was more than happy to help Josie and their friends.

Just as she had earlier, Laurie softly mumbled something in Jerry's direction. Seeing him shiver momentarily pleased her. Although her new spell had gained a foothold, there was still a possibility an even stronger spell might be required.

"Sorry I took so long, babe," said Kirk as he finally returned with her drink. "The line at the bar was really long."

"No problem," replied Laurie calmly as she took the drink from his hand. She wasn't too happy with him. Clearly, since she'd seen him flirting with that busty brunette at the bar, Kirk hadn't figured out that lying to her was a bad idea.

But he would soon enough.

As Jerry shook his head, he felt somewhat out of sorts. He closed his eyes hoping that would help it pass more quickly. An odd rippling sensation passed through him sending shivers coursing throughout his body. That was swiftly followed by a peculiar fleeting feeling of dizziness.

Something seemed to shift.

"Are you all right?" asked the young man.

Closed eyes popped open again. "I think so." Once again, something felt different. "I felt a little dizzy, like I was gonna faint, for a moment, but it's passed."

"I'm glad to hear you're all right, beautiful."

He thinks I beautiful. Something about that idea didn't seem right... but it sounded so nice it couldn't be all that wrong either. "So am I." Clearly, something had changed again. But what was it this time?

"I'm Adam Eastland," said the young man.

"Hi, Adam. My name's Jeri... Jeri Sutherland," replied Jeri with a widening smile. She couldn't help but think Adam was a hot hunk. "That's Jeri with just one 'R' and an 'I' at the end. I think my parents wanted a boy." She didn't think that sounded right either.

"I'm glad they didn't get one."

Jeri smiled at Adam. "So am I, handsome." She kept wishing she had some idea what had changed. Whatever it was clearly wasn't obvious. She was finding Adam's nearness exciting. Thinking about anything other than Adam seemed unimportant.

"Are you here alone, Jeri?" Adam's voice sounded hopeful.

"I suppose I am now. I didn't come here alone," replied Jeri, "but my girl friend Tommi left with Kirk Mitchell several minutes ago."

"If Kirk left with her, he must not have seen you," replied Adam.

"Aren't you sweet." Even if it didn't seem entirely right, she found herself liking Adam more and more with each passing minute.

"Would you like something to drink, Jeri?"

"That would be very nice." She smiled at him. "Thank you, Adam."

"I'll be right back."

Jeri watched him turn and head for the bar. She definitely liked what she saw. "What a cute tight ass Adam's got," she mumbled. She wanted to get to know him better. "I'm sure glad I'm not some boy."

Suddenly, she shook her head. That last thought had started her thinking.

Wasn't she a boy?

Jeri felt a little confused. Somehow her being a boy sounded sorta right. She had a strange feeling she'd been a boy at her birth. But her being a boy also sounded totally wrong.

Both thoughts couldn't be true.

Could that have been what had changed?

After mulling it over in her mind for several minutes, Jeri finally rejected the whole idea of her ever being male. Her being a boy had to be the stupidest thing she'd ever thought. She had no idea from where such a silly notion had sprung.

Her parents would have never raised her a girl if she'd been born a boy.

She was a definitely a girl. She'd always been a girl. That was what she remembered. That was also so obvious to anyone that took the time to look.

Jeri could think of no boy who would have even considered doing all the things she'd done. What boy would dated all the boys she had? Nor could she imagine any boy doing the things she and her dates had often done together.

She liked boys; she didn't want to be one.

Jeri could think of absolutely no reason why she'd ever want to be a boy. A boy could never have her advantage. If she were a boy, she couldn't be a witch. Only girls could be witches in her family. It was something passed from mother to daughter. There was no way in hell she wanted to be simple mundane boy like her little brother Dick.

Jeri smiled as she saw Adam returning with their drinks. She knew he'd make her soon forget what remained of those silly thoughts she'd been having. She already knew they'd have a good time tonight. There were no doubts in her mind about that. There was this little spell she knew that increased male stamina.

Jeri was already looking forward to comparing notes with Tommi. "That girl is gonna so green with envy when I tell her all about my night with Adam."

When Laurie Palmer left the dance later that evening, she was alone.

That wasn't too surprising given how all the young men's attentions were focused on some late-arriving busty redheaded tart named Kira.
