Just Like Mummy      EP/APlink

Original:  Young's Magazine, October, 1913

I've been a pushover for all things ancient Egyptian ever since I read Howard Carter's account of his discovery of Tutankhamon's tomb in my youth. Some of the best fiction about ancient Egypt and Egyptologists has come from the pen (A pen seems more appropriate for an archaeologist than a keyboard) of Elizabeth Peters. The woman on the cover made me think of her heroine in many such books, Amelia Peabody, and the date of the Young's Magazine is within the time span in Ms. Peters' stories about her. "Crocodile on the sandbank" is the first book in the series that now numbers twenty. I'm including a link to the Elizabeth Peters/Amelia Peabody website.
