You go, girl!!
Great set of covers. I can't decide which is my fave of the group...'OUT...For Revenge' or 'Sex To Be Determined'.

In the end, I just have to say great job on ALL of them!

Okay, here's 1674-1680. I'll now post 1661-1680 at the main site.

1674 - Hair Today, Gurl Tomorrow

Original: My Love comics, #5

This one's a little different as only the very beginning of the transformation is shown.

1675 - Between The Lines

Original: Love Diary comics, #37

I think this one applies to many of us who are torn between our supposed fantasy feminine lives and our supposed real lives, having obligations in the latter that prevent us from fully embracing the former.

1676 - Spilling The Beans

Original: Painting, "Tristan and Iseult", by Edmund Blair Leighton, 1902

Don't let things build up so far inside that when you can't hold them in any longer, you no longer have the ability to choose who to tell them to!

1677 - New ... And Improved!

Originals: Mulsified Cocoanut Oil Shampoo ads - The adult in Woman's Home Companion magazine, March, 1923; The child in Ladies' Home Journal magazine, April, 1924

Not every gender change done by the a witness protection program turns out badly!

1678 - From Male To Mommy

Original: Pictorial Romances comics, #18

In my scenario, Dad is as good as his word, supporting "her" as she completes high school and then college as a single mother raising her child. When, after ten years, she finally gives in, he even pays for the final surgery. Five more years later, she comes home early from her job as a high school councilor specializing in gender issue to find her fifteen year old son wearing ...

1679 - Dresses Are A Guys Best Friend!

Original: Advertisement for dress patters from a 1929 ladies magazine.

My first "Giant Sized" issue! I had to make it larger than usual as the layout is exactly the same as the ad's and the printing would have been too small to read. The two middle lines of text at the top are the same as original; I added the top and bottom lines. Read the descriptive text boxes from top left to right.

Let me know if you'd like more giant sized issues.

1680 - Future Wives Of America

Original: The Saturday Evening Post magazine, February 16, 1957

This is another one for Bea. This one is a tribute to all those TGfiction stories where the submissive hubby finds happiness becoming the wife to a dominant alpha female.(BTW, the not-too-happy-looking blonde seated in the back up against the chalkboard is Miss Robinson's nephew whose mother left him with her to take a job for a school year overseas; this is the Monday after he arrived, a typical 14 year old boy, on Friday!)

Here's 1681-1685! Enjoy and comment.

1681 - Witness Overprotection

Original: Secret Hearts comics, #39

If you have to change who you are and give up all you've ever known for a chance at safety, is it worth it?

1682 - Feeding Frenzy

Original: True Detective magazine, April, 1964

The girls outfit, especially the hat, brought back a memory of eating a meal, I think outside, with my mother and some of her lady friends, all of them dressed like that girl, in the style of the 1950's. My mother had neither the money or the leisure time to be a society "lady who lunched", so it must have been a one time thing. I have no idea why I was along.

1683 - While You Were Gone

Original: Secret Hearts comics, #129

I thought about putting a small Alice in Wonderland White Rabbit at the bottom of the comic hollering,"I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!" But then decided it would be overkill.

1684 - Be Like Me

Original: "La Toilette", painting by Eva Gonzales, 1879

One of my pet peeves as a history teacher was other history teachers teaching that The Pilgrims came to America for Religious Freedom. They did not. Freedom means you can do what you want, but also that you have to let others do what they want, even if you don't like it. In America, The Pilgrims persecuted people who disagreed with them just as they themselves had been persecuted in England. That is ironic, just as is the fact that the transwoman on my cover is going to force her sister to conform to society's standards, the same standards she had recently been freed from!

1685 - The Crimson Tide

Original: Glory comics, #3

Think of religion, vampires, crime, accidents. Blood changes things.

Jezzi Stewart:
While You Were Gone

Great cap! Very well done. Perfect marriage of image and text.
(One tiny caveat: it might read better as "Sue was ten years, two kids and one dead husband too late". The other way might suggest that the husband's death preceded the two kids, although it is arguable.)

Jezzi Stewart:
Be Like Me

I don't usually like this style of picture but the subject matter puts it over the top.
Nice anecdote about the Pilgrims too; I wasn't aware of that, but it didn't surprise me. Freedom for us, but not the rest of you lot! (Should I point out the interesting parallel of the establishment of Israel and the subsequent persecution of... But no, let's not go there.)

Here's 1686-1690. Enjoy and comment.

1686 - Double Makeover

Original: Gemey Perfume magazine ad, circa 1950's

I have thought for a long time that Pygmalion / My Fair Lady would be a much better story if it had a hero(ine) instead of a heroine. When I found the Gemey Perfume (which I'd never heard of) ad, I immediately thought it perfectly suited for the cover of a VG TG treatment of Shaw's plot.

1687 - Rules and Consequences

Original: Vintage sewing pattern cover, Simplicity, #6757

What's been done here has been answered. The three Boy Scouts are now gurls, having been made over by the Girl Scouts, who kidnapped them to do it, and they have just figured out that it must have been a put up job - instigated, presumably, by the BS camp directory, who enlisted the GS camp director's help, because they refused to obey his hair rule. The big unanswered questions are, where are they now, why aren't they scared, upset, or angry, and what happens next? Let me know what YOU think!

1688 - Harley To Schwinn

Original: Master Detective magazine, July, 1959

I'm not sure which is more humiliating for Rocco, having to live as a woman or having to ride a bicycle. :-)

1689 - Loss Or Gain?

Original: Boy Loves Girl comics, #37

Assuming you're not behind it and you hate it, what's the best revenge if your husband chooses to become a woman?

1690 - Replacement Refusal

Original: Secret Hearts comics, #37

If it had been possible to easily return to being a boy, he wouldn't have left as a girl, so the question is how much and how permanently a girl did they make him, and where will "she" go and what will she do?

Here's 1691-1695. I have all the way to 1700 done, so I'll post the next five to finish the 1600's up on Monday or Tuesday. Please enjoy and comment.

1691 - Secret Self

Original: A Photo from one of Maritess Concepcion's "Hair and Accessories" web sites. Thanks Maritess.

I've only ever had my hair put up in rollers once, and it was a part of one of those "You can't look till we're done!" makeovers with taking the rollers out and styling my hair being the very last step. I peeked right before that last step, expecting to look silly, but instead I had the same reaction I think the gurl in the photo is having, with the same look on my face. I LOVED what I saw! Seeing myself in the mirror, hair in curlers, made me feel more of a girl, more feminine, than the final product had in previous makeovers.

1692 - Winning!
http://tgcaps.com/caps/modpanels/lorna/LornaToons2 /LT_181+Good+Time.jpg.php

Original: Another from Lorna, LT181, Thanks, sis. Follow the Lorna Link.

In most TGfiction involving bets, the protagonists are made over into gurls because they lost the bet. Not so here; Each of the four males WANTS to be a girl - a girl, not a drag queen caricature of one, and the two who loose are the ones who have to stay males. The added double-or-nothing loss twist of having to be the gay friends who will be caricatures of women on weekends is just icing on the losing cake.

1693 - Sleeping Beauties

Original: Boy Loves Girl comics, #41

Nothing could possibly be better for a man than waking up a she-male, ... could it?

1694 - Cutie Pie Craze

Original: Boy Loves Girl comics, #39

Don't all genetic girls find it their biggest thrill in life to do girlie makeovers on unwilling males? ... Well, maybe only in the TGfiction Zone. :-)

1695 - Forward Or Reverse?

Original: Butterick dress pattern envelope cover, #3659

This pattern cover seems to be unique. Out of the hundreds I've looked at, it's the only one where the models appear to be doing something other than just posing and are using props that are not fashion accessories or gender related (little girls holding dolls, etc.). As soon as I saw it, the idea for my cover came to me.

Here's the last of the 1600's! I'll be positing the last twenty, 1681-1700, on the main site.

1696 - The Goodbye Guy

Original: Girls' Love comics, #121

One drawback to the use of deep cover agents is that the longer they are undercover the more they ARE what they started out pretending to be ... till one day who they were is gone. My guess is that when this case is over, Stephanie will go shopping for that rose ruffled blouse.

1697 - Reality Game

Original: Outlanders comics, #26

What our warrior princess hero(ine) doesn't know is that each time through the portal increases the real time once back in reality before the old self returns by ten. Mom's going to have her daughter doll for ten months this time. Wil HE actually be able to come back by then? Will Mom let him?

1698 - Fight Like A Lady

Original: "Becky Sharp", a painting by Norman Rockwell

I deliberately put in the date 1805 and the fact that our hero(ine) was to be a heroine for "the duration of the war effort - till Napoleon is defeated ... which would be TEN years, 1815!

One drawback to the use of deep cover agents is that the longer they are undercover the more they ARE what they started out pretending to be ... till one day who they were is gone.

What inspired me was Becky's expression. If I write this story, I'm going to have Ceelia tell it.

1699 - A Dress For Success

Original: Torchy comics, #1

Could YOU resist "Donna's" entreaties to enlist? Perhaps you'd enlist if you were guaranteed recruiter duty!

1700 - Gurl School

Original: I don't remember where I got this cartoon from, except that it wasn't from Lorna - though she may very well have used it, too.

Vaingirls Prepratory* Academy was established in 1980 as Ms, Joyce Hall, our founder's response to the growing need and desire on the part of our clients for long term live in feminine training. There was no room to expand our home salon on north Halsted Street in Chicago for that purpose, so a campus was created in nearby Oak Park. Almost all of the teachers nowadays are VPA alumni, and whatever kind of gurl you want to be, you'll find at least one of them who can help you become her.

Here's the start of the 1700's, 1701-1705!

1701 - One Stop For Love

Original: True Brides Experiences comics, #8

Just a nice simple happy one to usher in the 1700's!

1702 - No Escape

Original: Girls' Romances comics, #47

Matt knew he had to break Steve before he could even begin to truly have his Stephanie back, so he had let Steve think he had gotten away with ordering the things he would ned to get his manhood back. Then he had watched him sink more and more into depression as each day he snuck out and checked the mail. Today he had revealed everything and had seen Steve disappear in despair, leaving only a very fragile and unhappy Stephanie. Now he could begin the building up process. He would send her to live with his aunt and seven female cousins, all very feminine women. They would pamper her and she would thrive in the atmosphere of estrogen. Eventually she would be ready to date their handsome and gentlemanly cousin Matthew, and he would finally have his Stephanie back!

1703 - Swords Of Love

Original: Red Sonja comics, 1983 series, #2

Looks like a cutting edge courtship to me! :-)

1704 - Skirting The Future

Original: The illustration for a month in a 2011 calendar; that's all I remember.

Mom's original intention had been to make her son be Missy only till after "she" apologized, and then she would explain to everyone that the punishment was over. But she had had no idea how adorably cute her new daughter would turn out to be. Maybe just a few more days ...

1705 - Nice Guys Finish Last?

Original: Brides Romances comics, #4

Ten years later, Barbara reflected back on that night and what had followed. In Bob's anger following his sister's exposure of him, he had wanted to run from the reception hall and rid himself of every trace of the femininity he had adopted only to help her by filling in for a last minute bridesmaid cancellation. He had never dressed in women's' clothing before, or even thought of doing so, but he loved his sister very much and never had been able to say "No" to her. It was Monica who had sent him to Vaingirls, telling him they would make sure he would not be recognizable as anyone other than Brian's very pretty "Cousin Barbara", and they had certainly delivered!
Brian had held "her" back, and gradually he had calmed down and realized that his sister was uncharacteristically drunk and, very much in love with her new husband, had mistaken through jealousy his natural outgoing personality for flirting and felt betrayed. And so she had lashed out, unthinkingly outing him. The anger dulled, he could see that his sister deeply regretted what she had done for she was crying. He automatically moved to comfort her by taking her in his arms, not realizing that he was doing so just as a best girlfriend would.
He stayed as Barbara till the end of the reception, surprised that "she" was enjoying herself immensely. Monica and Brian had moved around the room explaining things, and the general consensus seemed to be that Bob was an exceptional brother and that Brian's cousin was a lovely woman and had made an excellent bridesmaid.
Things went back to normal, but by the end of the month, Bob, having experienced the excitement of being Barbara and now realizing how drab his life was, found himself back at Vaingirls. Barbara spent a very pleasant weekend with her sister and new brother-in-law, who, having discussed and dissected Bob/Barbara's performance at the reception, were not at all surprised to see her. Barbara weekends became more and more frequent, gradually becoming Barbara weeks and then months, till finally Bob had bowed out completely.
Five years ago, Barbara had met Cynthia.
Back to the present, Barbara watched her life partner cradling their little niece Candace in her arms. She herself was cradling Caroline, the other of Brian and Monica's twin baby daughters. Bob's good deed of ten years ago had been rewarded rather than punished, and, while Bob may have finished last, Barbara believed she had certainly come out a winner!

Once again, I have all the way to 1720 done, so I'm going to post them here in two baches instead of three. Here's 1706-1713!

1706 - Trading Up

Original: My Love Life comics, #7

There's physical labor, and then there's physical labor. :-)

1707 - Angels Among Us

Original: Sheet music cover, "The Story of a Soul", Charles K. Harris and Leo Wood, 1916

Sort of an "Aweee!" one.

1708 - Prey Or Play?

Original: McCall's sewing pattern #6571 envelope cover

All three "gurls" are in for it from "the Girls" I would imagine, but poor Mark will be in for it from the other two guys as well. The devil is in the details.

1709 - Frontier Femininity

Original: Sheet music cover, "The Cowboy Rag", Bobbie heath and Charlie O'Donnell, I couldn't find the date, but from the girl's outfit I would guess between 1900 and 1910.

Maybe "Bobbie" can generate enough interest to get a Faux Filly Saloon franchise for Bob and her town.

1710 - Deceived Into Dresses
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298nld4Yfds

Original: Patsy And Hedy comics, #35

Once again, my inspiration was the self-serving (wo)manipulating Vickie Tern woman. Vickie's women really are the standard for gullible men tricked into dresses stories.

I've used the "The Fifty-first Way To Leave Your Lover" theme before; It comes, of course. from the Paul Simon song, "Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover". This time I'm giving you a link.

1711 - First ... Son?

Original: All-True Crime Cases comics, #31

I like to think the first First Son transvestite was "W"; he was, after all, a first son before he was president. During his presidency I saw on the net several pics of him photoshopped into drag.

For those not in The United States, "She couldn't hurt Daddy now!" refers to the fact that she couldn't hurt him politically in terms of getting elected as our president can only serve two terms.

1712 - Public Speaking

Original: Girls' Romances comics, #112

One of the things of my Bucket List is to do voice over work on radio. A challenge and good money.

1713 - ... Smarter Than The Male

Original: The Designer magazine, May, 1914

68 years of experience leads me to say that the female of the species is, indeed, not only more deadly, but decidedly smarter than the male. Best just to say, "Yes, Dear." to the ones who inexplicably love you. I've based almost 46 years with one woman on that, and I'm a happy person!

Here's 1714 - 1720. I'll now post 1701-1720 on the regular site.

1714 - My Grade of "F(eminine)"

Original: I got this from one of Maritess Concepcion's "Hair and Accessories" websites. Since there were numbers under each girl, I believe this is either from a magazine dress advertisement or a dress pattern envelope, probably circa early 1960's.

The poses, body language and expressions of the girls are what inspired this one. I think all three dresses are extremely feminine, and would like to wear any of the three myself! I do think, however, that our hero(ine)'s is the most feminine. I do like the lace cuffs on the green striped dress, though, nice girlie touch.

1715 - A Job (Too) Well Done

Original: Just Married comics, #66

I suspect that the director had it in for Don for some reason and set him up so that "Donna" would be unable to do the part AND not be able to change back. Maybe he and Don liked the same girl. Why don't YOU write the story!?

1716 - Joint Venture

Original: Kim Novak and George Sanders, a still from the movie, "The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders", 1965

Although I have added to it, in the original there was some mist around Kim Novak; that's what inspired this one.

1717 - Good Love Gone Bad

Original: I Loved comics, #28

One of my few serious ones, perhaps too close to home for some of us

1718- Victim and Bait

Original: My Secret Affair comics, #2

Technically only the mayor will be blackmailed, but I liked the title "Blackmail Babe" and it was too late to tweak the balloon text.

1719 - No Men Allowed

Original: A story illustration by Pruett Carter found in a 1954 issue of The Saturday Evening Post magazine.

If you believe that Thomas will emerge from this in anything other than a dress, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. I think the only thing that will happen if he does consider his words carefully is that he will end up in a nice dress as Lady Carol's long lost sister rather than in a lady's maid's uniform.

1720 - Dreams vs. Reality

Original: magazine ad, Elgin Watch Company, circa 1926 (I think it odd that no Elgin watch is shown in the ad. In the copy, Elgin watches are identified with fine jewelry; perhaps at that time they were only sold in jewelry stores.)

Well, it COULD happen ... in the TGfiction Zone!
