Hi Jezzi,
Another great set again.
I have to say I like Football Facade, Revenge of the Nerd, and Prom Changes.

Thanks Helen and Maria. Prom changes made me sigh over lost youth and slenderness. I would love to look just like her and wear that dress! Ah, well ...

Here's 1561 - 1565. ENJOY!

1561 - She's just not himself

Originals: Main pic, The saturday Evening Post, December 1, 1962. In thought bubble, I Loved comics, #29

I've had the "I Loved" cover around for a while and had started modifying it several times but could never come up with just the right finish. When I saw the SEP cover, I knew the two on the IL cover would be perfect to replace the bridge game of the original in the thought bubble.

1562 - Sheling Waters OR Skirting on Thin Ice

Original: Pictorial Romances comics, #5

Winter time at a Jusenkyo cursed springs franchise :-)

1563 - Basketball Bridal Party

Original: Another photo from one of Maritess Concepcion's "Hair and Accessories" websites. A curtsey to you, Maritess.

I don't blame Michael. The bridal party clearly has much better (translate prettier) uniforms than the basketball team.

1564 - Soul Stoned

Original: Girls' Romances comics, #7

The stoner was a frustrated sculptor till he was hit on the head by a small rock from space and received the power to trap peoples souls inside his carved creations. A person so trapped, would become a flesh and blood copy of the statue, and would generally become the Stoner's slave - for only the Stoner could return the soul thus returning his or her original body as well. Smashing the statue meant the part of the soul that molded the body was lost forever.

1565 - Misogynist Hell

Original: Girls' Romances comics, #23

We may wish we were him, but we wouldn't if we were.

Hi Jezzi,
I was hard to choose a favourite from this selection. But I love the Basketball Bridal Party cover and the Soul Stoned cover.

Thanks Maria. As soon as I saw the original, I knew I wanted to be in that bridal party ... five times! So I could try out all five hairstyles. :-)

Here's the next five: 1566 - 1570

1566 - Now On Screen ...

Original: Paperback book cover, "The Impotent General" by Charles Pettit. One of two in Ace double books #25

My General is a good guy who's about to either be killed by the enemy or die soon from old age and being overweight. But not any more!

1567 - Procrastination Problem

Original: Young Romance comics, #155

Susan didn't ask. CARL didn't tell!

1568 - Honor Thy Mother ...

Original: Ad for Camay Soap in Ladies' Home Journal magazine, November, 1947

It was his duty, but was that all there was to it?

1569 - Privacy Issues

Original: Career Girl Romances comics, #70

This is another one where the story needs to be written.

1570 - Hints

Original: Vintage Postcard #342 from Cover Browser website

It was always better if they didn't have to use force or drugs. There really was a "Return to as you were" spell in the book, but "she" didn't need to know that; they had put an "ignore" spell on it.

Privacy Issues was my favourite of the new lot.

Denise doesn't know what would be worse. Being recognised as Dennis, or being too convincing as Denise and being asked out on a second lunch date.

Hi Jezzi,

Honor thy Mother is a great cover. Bob must like his new look. And it reminds me of a tale I read in an old TMC publication. But I can't remember the title.

I love Procastination Problem'.

SIX this time, as 1575 and 1576 go together.

1571 - One of Us Now

Original: McCall's dress making patterns ad, "The New Liking For Classic Lines" from McCall's Magazine, September, 1930

Miss Marshall's plan: Now that HE was broken, it was time to build HER up.

1572 - Hurting Time

Original: I Loved comics, #31

Heck, if Dad had known his son wanted to go to the ballet, he would have taken him; he already had the perfect dress for it.

1573 - Trick and Treat

Original: Sabrina The Teenaged Witch comics, #44

Sometimes a punishment can be a reward.

1574 - A Healthy Choice

Original: Confessions of the Lovelorn Comics, #96

Teaching, particularly teaching 12-14 year olds can be VERY stressful on a day to day basis. I did it for over thirty years and had two surefire methods of dealing with that stress. One was getting in my car after school, turning the stereo up to 11, plugging in some AC/DC or Iron Maiden, and banging the steering wheel all the way home. The other was becoming Jezzi.

1575 - Bridal Grooming

eliminating his text. My take on the pic is different enough from his so that I hope I'm not stepping on his toes, so to speak. If I am, Miles, let me know and I'll delete this one. (Miles site and work are great! Use the link to see his work. The pic I used is currently on p.4)

Issue #1576 contains the sequel to this cover's story.

1576 - The Happy Wife

Original: Another Photo from one of Maritess Concepcion's "Hair and Accessories" sites. Thanks, Maritess.

Here's 1577-1580. I will now copy 1561-1580 to the main site.

1577 - Before and After

Original: Wilbur comics, #15

When I first came up with Q T Pi, it was a sorority that took in and transformed occasional fraternity pledges. Here you see it evolved into a "frarority". Because I like the namer, in future issues it may appear as either one.

1578 - The 51st way to Leave Your Lover
http://tgcaps.com/caps/modcovers/jezzi/Vaingirls/V aingirls%201001-1100/Vaingirls+1017.jpg.php

Original: Hedy DeVine comics, #27

Is there a better way for a lady to keep her EXes from becoming her enemies than by transforming them into her devoted girlfriends? (see also issue #1017 - click on link)

1579 - Kept in the Dark OR Mother's Secret Agenda

Original: 1880s fashion plate from Google's Victorian women's fashions images site.

Mother apologized. She was so sorry, the change in party plans just slipped her mind. Yeah, sure. ... Friends were not really surprised, though, when the new Lady Skaton quickly forgave her.

1580 - Curtain going up!

Original: The cover of the Sunday Pictorial Review of the San Francisco Examiner newspaper, October 12, 1952

Mona never tried to come back to work, and "the show" went on for nine years till Rikki (Richard) turned 32 and was forced to retire. He gave up acting and opened a school for boys who wanted to be stewardesses.
Today Up In The Air, Inc. helps young men who want to work as women in a wide variety of careers. Vaingirls, Inc. is proud to be in partnership with Up In The Air, Inc., and our CEO, Joyce Hall, and Rikki can often be found lunching together at any one of the fine restaurants in Chicago.

I especially like "Screening Process" and "Curtain Going Up" because of the "different" cover style.

I'm way behind, but I post my covers in the forum first, because people can't comment on the "main display" and the need to make a second stop discourages comments somewhat, I think.

HI SIS.thanks for the comment. RE: "Curtain going up", I don't know if you get the TV show "Pan AM" down there. It's been canceled here, but I was a big fan. The show inspired this comic and #1545 which was also inspired by a film which is one of my all time favorites. I'm sure you'll understand why.

Regarding posting, starting with 1501, I'm doing the same, for the same reasons. I post five at a time, and once I've done twenty, I also post them at the main site.

I have always enjoyed the orginality and skill you have used in your covers. I may not post comments as often as I should, but don't for one minute believe your work isn't appreciated!

Here's 1581-1585!

1581 - Daughter Denied

Original: Just Married comics, #16

A serious and fairly realistic one for a change - For some of us this one may hit too close to home.

1582 - Forever Female

Original: A Date With Judy comics, #32

Feminine power need not necessarily depend on outward appearance.

1583 - Self Control

Original: Another pic from one of Maritess Cocepcion's "Hair and Accessories" websites. Thanks Maritess

Well, she isn't killing him ... or maybe, in a sense, she is.

1584 - Total Tailoring

Original: Saucy Stories magazine, April, 1936

A Twilight Zone tribute.

1585 - Not Quite Female

Original: FemForce comics, #18

1985 was the year FemForce comics debuted, with the characters already adults. Who can say they weren't former men who went through sex changes and contracted amnesia? You can? Oh, pooh, you're no fun! :-)

1589 - Oneupman(?)ship

Original: Young Love comics, April/May, 1963

All teenagers rebel, it's just that some, like our hero(ine) are more creative about it than others. ... And some parents are more creative in dealing with it than others. :-)

1590 - Which Is Which

Original: Young Love comics, December, 1961/January, 1962

Is the blonde GG and the brunette TG, or is it vice-versa? ... or are both TG?
