GrimG: Thanks for the recap, I'm going to read it. I personally heard Gore's comment. It, like all Gore comments, was slippery. He claimed to have been on the committee who approved the internet. I'm paraphrasing, and I didn't take time to read the Snopes article. My point is, Gore attempted in an indirect way to convince people that he was responsible for the creation of the intertubes. Just like I could say "I personally helped put Bill Clinton in office" -- just because I voted for him once. He's just intellectually dishonest.
I don't know if I've mentioned it here, and some of you may be familiar with it, but I believe (I could be wrong) it was at the environmental summit, some bigshot convo, where Gore quoted a scientist as predicting the polar ice cap could melt in 5 to 7 (?) years, a ridonkulously short time, whatever the exact interval was. To Gore's embarrassment, that scientist he "quoted" was in the crowd, stood up, and stated he never made an official prediction like that, that he had speculated in private to Gore.
Let's not even talk about Gore and Tipper's crusade to censor music.
Gore the Whore.
