I thought I try my hand at making a modified cover. And trust me, it's modified.

Let me know what you think.

Posted with the original caption, after accidentally deleting the one with mine.

Anyway, I quickly reconstructed it and will repost.

Excellent work. I particularly liked "290" for the classic "helpless female in the hands of a monster" motif.

Thank you.

Here's a couple more in the Vampire Planet series.

You might be surprised just how often the vampire carrying the helpless girl appears in the covers I've looked at.

218 is GREAT !! Food for thought ... and more :-) Cruk's species may very well be cousin to the Urrts in the "Challenges of Zona" webcomic.

A new horror title.

No recapping here, except for the title.

Otherwise, just a "face lift", of sorts.

Heh... Face lift indeed.

BTW, if you post the wrong version, notice a spelling mistake etc. it is not necessary to post a new message to correct the attached image. Just use the Delete Attachment # link under the image to remove the offending file, then click on the Edit link for your message, followed by Upload File(s) from the Edit page. You can then re-upload your pic to replace the old version.

Nice tip, Andi.

Is "In the Dark" the first modified cover to feature Jack Kamen art? I always liked the way he drew women. Yowza!

I like how "In the Dark" can be read as either a M2F transformation or a F2M. Nice job, Bill. The grafted head is seamless!

Thank you, Andi. I didn't realize I could edit the post. I'm sure I'll take advantage of it in the future.

I had a thought bubble all planned out for #12, but decided not to use it once I decided no verbage was the best wordage. I was really surprised to find two covers with the head in the same position (more or less, since I had to flip one horizontally).

I wrote a quick scene to go with "In the Dark 8".

Bill

In the Dark 08

A low moan barely above a whisper told Jake that George Harris had survived his transformation into womanhood and was now slowly regaining his senses. George's new female form was the best one yet, which pleased Jake greatly.

But the work was unfinished. There was still more in need of being done.

As Jake slowly approached, syringe in hand, George's now blue eyes fluttered open. They widened quickly, filling with fear, as George recognized what Jake held in his hand.

George wanted to scream, yet couldn't. All he managed was a simple "Why?" in a still husky, far too masculine sounding, voice for Jake's taste. And yet, his voice would, from the way it had cracked, change still further. It's timbre was bound to become more pleasingly enticing.

As simple as the posed question, Jake had answered "Why not?" Jake smiled down at the young woman's form George now possessed. "You'll like this shot much better, George. They'll be no pain of transformation this time. This drug's effects are purely mental."

George wanted to escape, but could barely move. His every muscle ached and burned as if overworked and overstressed. Stranger still, he felt damned peculiar. There was something wrong with him, just what he didn't know.

Jake emptied the contents of the syringe into George's bare neck. "In a few moments, you'll start feeling a little woozy, George. In fact, you should start feeling real good. And then, your mind will open to suggestion.

"As soon as you're feeling good enough, I'll tell you all about Gina Hiller. You don't know her yet, but you will. Soon you'll know her far more intimately than any other woman you've ever known."

George, much to Jake's surprise, moaned softly.

Jake looked into George's eyes. "Just relax, George. It's not like you can fight the inevitable." he smiled. "Let me tell you a little bit about Gina while we're waiting. Gina's a lot like you, George, but I think she likes boys even more than you like girls. She's always chasing after one boy or another, just like he always chases skirts. Neither of you can get enough. You're such a boy-hungry insatiable little slut."

When George, soon to be Gina, made no further reply, Jake looked into her eyes once again. Seeing how her eyes had become glassy and how she stared off into space, Jake smiled. She was finally ready. It was about time.

"Listen to me very closely, George. You'll believe everything I tell you," began Jake. "I'm going to tell you everything there is to know about Gina Hiller and her life. As I do, her life will supplant your life in your mind. The idea of you being George Harris will also fade from your thoughts. You'll think of yourself solely as Gina Hiller. You'll think as she thinks. You'll act as she acts! She is you! And you are she! And if the subject of George Harris should ever come up for some reason, you'll think of him fondly as just another of the many men you've known in your life."

Once Jake had filled Gina in about herself, he sat back to wait. He wanted to be there when she awoke. Even if Gina would never think - or for that matter believe - he was, Jake wanted to be her first.
